Nothing much happened today cept' that i finished my NCO duty this morning and got a half day off given by sergeant coz i had to send one of our section guys back home coz he had a ligament problem and was given 2 days MC from the MO. More sigfinicantly, today's my old man's birthday... We went to a really nice place with a nice ambience to celebrate his dinner. An open air restaurant, just beside fisherman's village. Just being around him celebrating his dinner without any interruptions felt warm.. Ha...21 years with my old man. Seeing him well and still fighting fit somehow consoles me deeply that he's still around with me on my journey toward adulthood. How many friends i have, that have lost their fathers... And have no more time left to celebrate their father's birthday with them. How these friends have to become stronger because they have to stand on their own two feet to face the future with only their mother to guide them. I never did fully appreciate the fact that my dad was always trying so hard to guide us, aid us, through life's most bitter storm and hardest obstacles... Up till now, i'm still not appreciative of certain things... How shameful. Thank you for always standing up and helping me my old man.. Now you're a ripe old age of 50 and i pray sincerely that you'll enjoy life up to the fullest while i slowly do as what a filial son should do and slowly repay you back what you have done for me all these years as a father, companion and friend.. Happy 50th Birthday my Dearest and only Father...
