Gruesome incident..
Actually this happened yesterday... Erm. At night. After my duty. (Which ended un-promptly at 12) SO, i got back to section, had a quick shower and made some noodles to eat while folding my No. 4. Then we got this phone call from our sergeant telling us to get the NCO to wake up, (sounded pretty ball wrenching - his voice that is). Ah, anyways, NCO took the call and... guess what. Dog fight. Dammit. All the most incredulous things JUST has to happen to our batch. Well, to cut the hassle of explaining every single detail, i'll cut it short. When the tonner got to the depot and the midnight handlers were to take over the evening handlers, BY RIGHT, the midnight handlers has to unload their dogs first. But in this incident, the evening handlers LOADED their dogs first. SO, there's this guy from the midnight shift, (goes by the nick of veggie.. damned son of a feline) who takes the evening handler's dog and loads it into the cage (dog's name is Barry). Then, he goes to the other cage and takes his dog out... (Here's the part which left my mouth hanging) When he walked his dog out (this dog's name is Art 1), past Barry's cage, Barry butted the door with his head and promptly snapped on Art 1's thigh. Chaos. Barks. Screams. Shouts. Whimper. All hell broke loose. (Figuratively speaking, it's just to add to the atmosphere) Barry's handler rushed up the tonner and held onto his dog, the damned veggie held onto Art 1. Barry's handler desperately tried to choke the dog, forcing it to let go... Alas, he couldn't. Barry's grip was like a vice. Art 1 was in a state of shock. The handler was in a state of bloodied STUPID frenzy. Blood splatted all over. Gushing wound. Veggie lost all sanity and frantically began to haul Art 1 away from Barry. He pulled, barry countered. Finally, Barry's handler could not stand it anymore and let his leg loose on his dog. Barry let go. Art 1 lied on the ground. Silent whimpering and weeping. Veggie's hauling had caused Art 1's wound to tear a devastating 30cm. Nine hells. Dark. Dark & empty. Almost half the world was contacted to get Art 1 to hospital. When i got back to section the follwing morning (because i had to follow the tonner to pick up the midnight shift handlers this morning), i discovered that Art 1 had been discharged and put into his kennel (and i also found out all this that i'm writing here. seems that veggie's trying to push the blame to the I-DON'T-KNOW-GOD. he just said that he didn't know the dog cage's door was spoiled, so how would he know the dog would come out to bite Art 1. the bloody horse trader). I went to see him... .. ... it really is.... a sight for tears, lying down on his side..motionless. I talked to him. No response. I tried calling his name. Silence. I hunkered down to look him in his one good eye... That was the first time.... i saw tears in a dog's eye... I tried feeding him but he wouldn't eat... He just lied there. Devoid of all the world. I really felt for him... and i'm still feeling for him now... Although i've never taken him under my wing... But to see one of our dogs.. like this... really is pure wretchedness.
